  • The Story Behind THE VENDŌMIAN

    Some brands are created in boardrooms.
    Others are born from a place, a feeling, a way of living.

    THE VENDŌMIAN began at Place Vendôme.

    For more than two decades, Gérald Lampaert lived and worked around one of the most iconic squares in the world. In 2002, he founded VENDŌME HOSPITALITY GROUP, a company specializing in luxury communication, hospitality, and event management, headquartered first at 16 Place Vendôme and later at number 10.

    It was there, in the heart of Parisian elegance, that the story truly began.

    Surrounded daily by the world’s most prestigious fashion houses, jewellers, palaces, and maisons, he discovered far more than luxury itself. He discovered an atmosphere. A culture of detail. A certain way of welcoming people. A sense of beauty that could be felt in every gesture, every material, every conversation.

    Between meetings, coffee breaks and lunches often took place across the square — at legendary addresses such as Hôtel Ritz Paris and its famous Bar Vendôme, or in the refined salons of neighboring luxury hotels. Over time, these places left a lasting impression: not simply for their prestige, but for the emotions they created.

    The feeling of wellbeing, care, and belonging.

    Hospitality became more than a profession.
    It became a passion.

    As Gérald spoke constantly about the beauty, history, and spirit of Place Vendôme, friends and colleagues eventually gave him a nickname:

    “Le Vendômien.”
    “The Vendōmian.”

    A name inspired not only by a place, but by a lifestyle. A state of mind. A deep connection to Parisian refinement and contemporary living.

    Years later, after living and working internationally, the nickname slowly faded away.

    Until 2026.

    While envisioning a new kind of large scale luxury hospitality brand — one that could combine the timeless elegance of traditional grand hotels with the values of a new generation focused on wellbeing, design, sustainability, culture, and human connection — the name suddenly returned.

    Naturally. Instinctively.

    THE VENDŌMIAN was born.
